Where Sophistication Meets Fun!

Beluga’s Exclusive Whisky Lounge Launch opened with a classic Scottish Bagpipe performance to start off the evening.

Guests were greeted by Beluga’s red carpet rolled out at each entrance, welcome cocktails, gorgeous photo wall and smiling hostesses handing out gold entrance bands marked with the

These guests were a collection of high-end businessmen, Maserati’s top clientele and an array of influencers and celebrities such as, Shane Burnell, Kerry-Lee Cousins, Mieke Visser, Ratilekalakala, Clay Morar, Shamiel Hagee, Sanele Xaba, Herschelle Gibbs, Mamello ‘Mumz’ Mokoena, JP Roberts, Adrian Burger and Dylan Labuschagne (HeartFM), and well-known handles/media such as Skyfall_Ryan, Polkadotsandwine, Bizcommunity, Cape Town Insider, Kulula  in-flight magazine and many more.

The evening continued with amazing energy. Guests enjoyed the Maserati car display and Maserati branded cigar lounge. The elegant procession followed with a tasting glass, a mini bottle of Acqua Panna or San Pellegrino and access to ten amazing whisky tasting bars.

These tasting bars were managed by seven of Beluga’s fantastic whisky suppliers, namely:

Macallan (Edrington/ABV), The Glenlivet (Pernod Ricard), Glenmorangie (RGBC), Johnnie Walker (Diageo), Dewar’s and Aultmore (Bacardi), Kavalan (Universal Brands), and Three Ships, Bain’s, Bunnahabhain and Deanston (Distell).

Guests enjoyed a myriad of whiskies from unique locations, with different year aged casks and diverse flavour profiles. This was paired with fun interactions, entertaining anecdotes and amusing games where prizes were won.

Beluga spared no expense with the bounty of canapes provided, platters of sushi were laid out for all (including its famous vegan sushi), floating canapes made their way across the courtyard in style and the OysterKing and Queen were in full shucking performance.

Guests loved roaming illusionist/mentalist Larry Soffer and his performance was well accompanied by Brendan Wickstrom’s great DJ skills filling in the background.

Throughout the evening guests were purchasing one of the exclusive lockers available in the Beluga Whisky Lounge and subsequently filling it with their favourite whiskies, as they had tasted during the luxurious evening.

The evening ended with floating trays of dark Chocolates by Tomes, Beluga’s famous White Chocolate Beignets and a wonderful sponsored gift from Thule. Larry Soffer offered an additional performance to a larger audience in the Whisky Lounge and later many could not help but dance to the party beats of DJ Wickstrom.

This event was only the start of many amazing things to come at Beluga. The benefits of becoming a Beluga Whisky Lounge member are endless and the future events (both whisky and non-whisky related) will show the public what Beluga is truly made of.
